“What is the meaning of life?
...The great revelation perhaps never did come. Instead, there were little daily miracles, illuminations, matches struck unexpectedly in the dark; here was one.”

THE VIRGINIA WOOLF SCHOLARSHIP
for women writers over 40

Our goal is to open our doors to a diverse range of writers: all genres, all stages of the publishing journey, marginalized voices, mainstream success stories, perspectives without boundaries. We encourage everyone to apply for small group event scholarships.

Our annual $1000 Virginia Woolf Scholarship is for women writers over 40 and may be applied to any solo or group retreat.

  • Deadline for application is April 27, 2019. The scholarship winner will be notified by May 5 and must use the scholarship award within six months.

  • Three runner-up applicants will receive a $250 scholarship toward the group or solo event of their choice.

  • Scholarship winners are responsible for tuition balance and travel.

  • Decisions are final and unabashedly subjective, based on answers to questions in the application. Be yourself, be brief, and help us get to know you.

CONGRATULATIONS to our 2018 Virginia Woolf Scholarship winner Rachel Cline, author of The Question Authority.
